Participation of Environmental Research Center instructors in the Second Conference on Agricultural Sciences

Assistant Lecturer Asmaa Nafie Badri and a number of our center’s faculty members participated in the Second International Scientific Conference on Agricultural Sciences under the theme “Smart and Sustainable Agriculture for Achieving Food Security.” The conference was organized by the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad in collaboration with Al-Nusour University from April 9-10, 2025. She presented a paper examining the impact of different coverage levels and multiple irrigation methods on the productivity of the sedge plant. The lecturer participated remotely via Google Meet. The conference brought together a select group of Iraqi and foreign scientists in the field of agricultural engineering. The conference highlighted the importance of hydroponics as a solution to water shortages and a means of improving soil fertility. The research presented during the scientific sessions demonstrated how modern methods can contribute to increasing production using less space. The results confirmed that agricultural technology represents a fundamental pillar for community development and achieving food security on a local and global scale.
